Two-way System Advantages
Satellite-based IP VSAT offers distinct advantages over terrestrial-based services: the ability to deploy quickly, scale easily, and deliver professional broadband services cost-effectively.
Geographic coverage

Satellite coverage reaches any location within the satellite footprint, regardless of national boundaries. IP VSAT is the most cost-effective solution to broad geographic coverage as lower network cost is gained using a network with no terrestrial barriers. IP VSAT is ideal for areas that are remote or difficult to access and where the terrestrial fees are too costly.
Rapid expandability

Unlike terrestrial services, which basically come in small, medium, and large, VSAT IP can be scaled up continuously in small increments. Adding more users is simply a question of adding terminals anywhere, anytime.
Low initial investment

Since IP VSAT does not require hardwired infrastructure, it can provide new broadband pipes faster, and at far lower costs compared with cable or ADSL which require extensive, long term investments in infrastructure. An IP VSAT installation in any given territory would require no more investment than in a hub at the satellite uplink and the required number of VSAT terminals. New terminals can be added to the network anytime, based on actual need.
Homogeneous and independent

IP VSAT solutions are completely independent of technologically fragmented and sluggish terrestrial services. The entire communication loop from the hub to the end- user terminal is provided by a single, seamless system.
IP Multicast

IP multicast is unique to broadcast networks. On top of traditional unicast, multicast allows to distribute software updates or IP video streams to any number of terminals through a single pipe.
